A trip to Cannon Beach

Last week Dan had corporate training in Portland. The boys and I tagged along on the trip and made a vacation out of it. In my mind when I’m planning these trips it’s always just a good time. I always forget how difficult it is to travel with kids! Sleeping in a hotel, eating out a restaurants, missing naps, wanting to buy things at every place we stop and being in the car for hours and hours is just more than the little people can take sometimes!

After training was over on Wednesday we packed up the car and made the hour drive to the ocean. Nothing says summer fun like playing around at the beach! The only problem is we forgot how blasted cold it is at Washington and Oregon beaches! Thankfully we had left our sweatshirts in the back of the car. We just happened to be there for low tide and we had planned on staying until sunset but it was so overcast that after 2 hours it was getting dark and cold. Even the cold weather couldn’t break our spirits. Being at the ocean is so calming and good for your soul. We had such a wonderful time playing and exploring together.  The 2 hours we spent there were magical, and completely worth the drive!

Crazy Logan stripped off his shirt the second he saw the beach! He couldn’t have cared less about how cold it was!

Sometimes we’re confused about what color Jackson’s hair really is. He was born a redhead, and inside it looks mostly blonde but come outside and surprise, he’s a redhead again!

A little proof that I was actually there!
