For the last several years we have gone out and cut our own Christmas tree. After one particularly bad year when our tree was so dead by Christmas that every time we took a present out from under the tree about 50 needles would fall off, we made the change. The little boys love the adventure of cutting down the tree and I love having a fresh tree that isn’t dead by Christmas.
This year we went to the same tree farm we have gone to for the last 4 years, even though we live a lot farther away now. The night before we lucky enough to get a little snow and there was even more snow at the tree farm then at our house. Snow is Seattle is about the most exciting things that could ever happen for 3 and 5 year old boys. Now because we only get snow once or twice a year we don’t have snow boots for our boys. And I had been at the studio all morning so when I got home we jumped in the car and left. I didn’t realize that they were a little under dressed for snow and that we didn’t bring extra clothes for when they got wet. So we got our tree in record time this year because the boys got cold so quickly. That’s okay, I think we got the prefect tree, even though it was the first one we saw.
There wasn’t very much snow, but enough to have 2 very excited boys.
Eli could not help himself, he had to stick his face in the snow!
I wonder if one of these giant trees will fit in our tiny apartment?
What a cute little dirty face!
And then it was back to the car. We were out of there lickety split!
